Every October in recognition of archaeology month, the Wanapum and Grant PUD invite members of the public and press to Archaeology Days which takes place at the Wanapum Heritage Center. This event provides a unique opportunity for children and adults to come face-to-face with the Wanapum way of life.

The Wanapum extend this opportunity to the community to convey the significance of protecting the cultural resources of this region. Demonstrations, lectures and displays are available throughout the day and lunch is provided.

  • Tamanwit Exhibit
  • Hide Processing
  • Tule mat weaving
  • Beadwork
  • Basket Weaving
  • Flint Knapping
  • River Patrol
  • Atlatl
  • Wanapum Canoe

Additional Activities and Demonstrations especially for Youth may include:

  • Natural Resources / Plants
  • Solar Car Races
  • Bird of Prey
