











RESERVOIR PATROL
The River Patrol watches and protects important Wanapum locations from looters and other damage. The River Patrol uses jet boats and four-wheel drive vehicles to patrol Priest Rapids Dam to Rock Island Dam. The 110 mile area is patrolled seven days a week.
Most of the river patrol has attended the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) and Crime Scene Investigation Training. The Umatilla Tribe holds the training at

Hanford's HAMMER location. Training teaches them how to spot looters and looting and looting activity. The River Patrol learns how to study and document an ARPA crime in progress, and how to properly investigate the scene of an ARPA crime. They also learn which laws apply.
The River Patrol gives information to visitors to the Columbia River region, and works in cooperation with law enforcement.
